Unfruitful meditation or prayer

Not all judgment creates anger, but all anger comes from judgment whether we are mildy, moderately, or severely angry. That's right, whether we are seeking malicious vengeance or are bitterly holding onto a grievance, or are irritated or annoyed, or whining and complaining even just in our heads, it came from our mind making a judgment. Do you know what the opposite of judgment is? Forgiveness. When we are angry, we are experiencing unforgiveness. I recently heard a spiritual man say that anger has a price tag. Within the week of him saying that I have felt this need to share with you a very short, two-paragraph story:

What this tells us is that anger, judgment, and unforgiveness keep our prayers from making it into Heaven. Maybe we don't believe in Heaven, so let me put it this way: all that positive thinking and mediation hasn't been making any of the expected significant and lasting changes in our life, because we're still in our mind, judging, not forgiving, holding on to resentment. These come from attachment to our beliefs, our values, our philosophy, our ideology. When we are attached to our opinions, we feel an immediate need arise in us to defend them whenever they are questioned or attacked.
